Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

One of my favorite weeks during school is Read Across America week. There are so many fun activities to do to promote reading and of course the best day of all is Dr. Seuss's birthday! We celebrate by having guests come in and read to us, we do many craftivities,  and we love to decorate and dress up!  Check out some of this week's fun!  Oh, and......Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post for your monthly FREEBIE!

The Lorax and The Cat in the Hat were among our students today, roaming the halls, looking for classes to read to and selfies to take.  The Lorax looks quite different when teaching Physical Education... and the Cat, well, let's just say she's the one you want to KEEP smiling!  :)

These are a few writing samples of what we did to honor our favorite books and the pictures below are all part of our classroom wall decorations. The children did a great job writing and coloring the Happy Birthday cupcakes. They had a fun time transforming themselves into Cat in the Hats!

I always like to decorate my classroom door - and this year I decided to use a combination of Dr. Seuss book covers and characters that I purchased from a teacher supply store - as well as my own teacher-created Dr. Seuss quotes posters.

So for this month's freebie - You can visit my store and download these posters for FREE!
